Here’s a mobile casual game project I worked on as a freelance UI/UX designer for a AAA client (SC Company, Shanghai Studio) about 3-4 years ago. This was an experimental alpha version of a project in its testing phase before the company officially moved forward. My primary responsibilities included UX research, competitive analysis during the early stages, designing the visual style of the UI, creating gameplay interactions, and building the project’s GUI—things like wireframes, flowcharts, animations, menus, and some icon design.
Although this experimental project didn’t complete development, I learned a lot from the experience and really enjoyed the process. I’m proud to have been part of such a short-term mobile game project.
This year, I revisited the original UI/UX design and did some polishing and redesigning parts of the UI. Due to confidentiality agreements and respect for the original character and environment designs, I used MidJourney (an AI tool) to generate concept characters and environments that match my vision, like home screen backgrounds and in-game scenes. I’ve selected some of the best parts of the UI/UX designs to share with you here, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’m always looking to improve and appreciate any feedback on my work.
